BLUE CROW
Hi I'm Naomi and I'm the Warband webmistress and was I raised as Warrior Priestess in 2007. Poems are very much like my diary, these are a small collection, all copyrighted and appeared in a book I published called 'Like the poet needs the pain' - please don't buy it!
Raven's Bran
Talisman found and interred for King and Land
Raven found and set free. Bringer of magic
Left us to re-enter the Great Mystery.
May he return to us carrying messages
Courier of intention, healing energy and thought
Messenger of these things on the Blue Road of spirit
I felt your presence on the cool northern winds
I felt your presence in the hearts around me
I felt your body, cupped in my hands
I felt you connect within
I wanted to hold you a bit longer but had to let you go
I wished I had met you then and not now
We released you to the winds of the land
We stood united in circle and cried
We felt the pain in the hearts of those around us
We felt the cool northern winds in our hair, in our faces
We turned to the hills and let you go
We wanted to hold onto you a bit longer but had to let you go.

The Truth Hurts
Loud are their voices of discontent
voicing their hurts for all to see
bitter and twisted with false pride
united together in their abstract misery
Blinded they are, they can no longer see
the grain of truth in their purgatory
the grain of truth they fail to see
is their last grain of dignity
Beyond spoken words, beyond written
they cannot see how they are perceived
they can only tear away the faith of others
united together in their misery
Words of love, words of peace
yet arrows of hate they speak
blinded and ugly for all to see
the mantra of peace they break
Hard words are never forgotten
so their wounded prides
continue to eat them away like cancer
the last grain of truth that duly hides
I watch them suffer in their misery
unable to grasp their own demise
watching and waiting for the day
they are consumed by their own lies
voicing their hurts for all to see
bitter and twisted with false pride
united together in their abstract misery
Blinded they are, they can no longer see
the grain of truth in their purgatory
the grain of truth they fail to see
is their last grain of dignity

Astral Backpacking
Living in a dreamworld
Reality within reach
Crystal blue skies
And a warm sandy beach
High peaks capped
With white fluffy clouds
Fast mountain rivers
With mist as their shrouds
Lost in space
As time passes by
Billions of stars
Burn holes in the night
Faraway places
That call to me often
Ayres rock, plateaus
Table top mountain
The inevitable question
Breaks my astral dream
My son wakes me and asks
'Mum, what's for tea?'
Reality within reach
Crystal blue skies
And a warm sandy beach
High peaks capped
With white fluffy clouds
Fast mountain rivers
With mist as their shrouds
Lost in space
As time passes by
Billions of stars
Burn holes in the night
Faraway places
That call to me often
Ayres rock, plateaus
Table top mountain
The inevitable question
Breaks my astral dream
My son wakes me and asks
'Mum, what's for tea?'
Dance of the Demented
She bangs her drum
and hollers some more
Stomps about
The circle is hers
She twists and twirls and
Dances the dance of the demented
She stops to breathe, scents of nature
Bangs her staff on the ground
The earths dull thud, thud, thud
She hollers again and dances some more
Twisting, turning and spinning around
The dance of the demented
and hollers some more
Stomps about
The circle is hers
She twists and twirls and
Dances the dance of the demented
She stops to breathe, scents of nature
Bangs her staff on the ground
The earths dull thud, thud, thud
She hollers again and dances some more
Twisting, turning and spinning around
The dance of the demented
Handfasting
In the core of our souls
Our love spirals around
The trees and stones witness
Our ancient pledge to the land
With friends and kin present
With the Warband did raise
Their hearts and love to us both
Stepping through the arch of staves
Our hearts and soul unite
As our King binds us both
Hand to hand, heart to heart
Forever betrothed
Our love spirals around
The trees and stones witness
Our ancient pledge to the land
With friends and kin present
With the Warband did raise
Their hearts and love to us both
Stepping through the arch of staves
Our hearts and soul unite
As our King binds us both
Hand to hand, heart to heart
Forever betrothed
Moon Tripping
The moon above
lights the path below
everything in silvery beams
The moon above
lights the path I follow
as I trace my steps to
the garden below
Silvery beams stretch &
feed the shadows long
summers warm breeze
cricket's leg song
The ruins all ghostly
yet oddly alive
Keepers of memories gone
only cold history survives
I walk this path
as if it was a dream
my face tilts upwards
to bask in Her beams
A strange duality
a strange misgiven idea
to fear darkness & worship light
there is light in darkness & nothing to fear
Ying & yang
light versus darkness
good versus evil
I disagree! Balance equals wholeness
lights the path below
everything in silvery beams
The moon above
lights the path I follow
as I trace my steps to
the garden below
Silvery beams stretch &
feed the shadows long
summers warm breeze
cricket's leg song

Moon Bathing
How cold and big the night feels
Yet strangely it surrounds you
With quiet nearness
The only lights to be found are
Mournful silvery beams from the moon
A distant glow from a nearby town
Is the only thing on the horizon
How large yet closed-in the night feels
From the warmth of my windowsill
I huddle up in bed again and peer out from my covers
At the solitary silvery beam from the moon
As it slips in through the gap
Passed my curtains and into my room.
I close my eyes and bask
In the cold yet comforting rays.
Reflected light and thoughts play my mind into sleep.
Into the start of another day
Yet strangely it surrounds you
With quiet nearness
The only lights to be found are
Mournful silvery beams from the moon
A distant glow from a nearby town
Is the only thing on the horizon
How large yet closed-in the night feels
From the warmth of my windowsill
I huddle up in bed again and peer out from my covers
At the solitary silvery beam from the moon
As it slips in through the gap
Passed my curtains and into my room.
I close my eyes and bask
In the cold yet comforting rays.

To Be
To be or not to be
To be standing in the sun
To be bathed with light
To be intouch with yourself
To be surrounded by natures beauty
To be part of spirit
To be one with it all
To be one with it all
Standing in the sun
Arms stretched out wide
Twirling in the sunshine
Absorbing the healing rays
Soaking in the light
Feeling elevated and free
At one with it all
A physical body
A free spirit
As it should be
To be standing in the sun
To be bathed with light
To be intouch with yourself
To be surrounded by natures beauty
To be part of spirit
To be one with it all
To be one with it all
Standing in the sun
Arms stretched out wide
Twirling in the sunshine
Absorbing the healing rays
Soaking in the light
Feeling elevated and free
At one with it all
A physical body
A free spirit
As it should be
Crow Speaks
Crow he calls
Oh how he calls to me
‘Pick up your ears and listen
For I have much to say!’
Can you not hear the call?
Can you not understand?
You can see crow everywhere
You can hear his calls
Loudly he cries his message
Over and over again
I pick up my ears and listen
To what he’s trying to say
‘Come follow me!
Go deep within yourself
Close your eyes and slow your breath
Spread your wings and fly’
‘Fly above it all and survey the land
Call out what you see
Feel the earth and skies unite
Ride the updraft of the breath of life’
This is the path of Sacred Law
This is the call of crow
These are the words that reach my ears
Crows call penetrates my soul
------
You may have heard this in circle as RyG performs it as a song

Guardian
By the big oak he sits
Back to the bark
Rooted deep in the earth
Blowing high in the warm breeze
Fingers and limbs stretched out far
To caress the suns rays
To feel the wind move every leaf
To wave and sigh in summers breeze
To drink the warm rain that falls upon the ground
Roots nourishing the whole with hidden reservoirs below
The bark so strong and supple
Holding his seat and soul
Here he sits, Guardian of this grove
Blessings and healing to all those who step in
He is not gone, his body may be no more
But here he sits.
Protector. Healer. One with it ALL.

Heath
High on the juices
Of a plant only known
to those who travel
to the otherworlds
The procession winds up the hill
the sky dark and moody
the trees sway like ghosts
rooted in another place and time
They take their King and kin
up the white path
laid out beneath the stars
they feast til sober dawn
Possessions to guide them on
things they cherished in life
chanted hopes and keys to the next door
they say their goodbyes for now
The heavy earth reclaims their bones
the heath of many mounds
time moves on forever more
their memorial outlines the sky
Of a plant only known
to those who travel
to the otherworlds
The procession winds up the hill
the sky dark and moody
the trees sway like ghosts
rooted in another place and time
They take their King and kin

Ostara
Naked trees
Bare blue skies
Last years leaves
Litter the ground
Cold winds blow
A mighty chill
Rain turns to snow
The sun climbs higher
Daffodils and crocus
Snowdrops and catkins
Life has burst thru
The cold hard earth
Life is imminent
It's waiting to bloom
Green shoots and colours
Birds return home
Colder weather will come
Life still breaks thru
Defying frozen death
Under frost and snow
New life breaks thru
Winters death begins to wane
Sunny days and blue skies
Wake us up within
New life in Springtime
The lambing season not far
Cold winds may blow
Spring has been announced
Bare blue skies
Last years leaves
Litter the ground
Cold winds blow
A mighty chill

Doors
"If the doors of perception were cleansed, every thing would appear as it is infinite."
William Blake
"There are things known and things unknown and in between are the doors of perception."
Jim Morrison
"It has always seemed to me possible that by taking the appropriate drug, I might so change my ordinary mode of consciousness as to be able to know, from the inside, what the visionary, the medium, even the mystic were talking about.
But the man who comes back through the Door in the Wall will never be quite the same as the man who went out. He will be less self-satisfied, humbler in acknowledging his ignorance yet better equipped to understand the relationship of words to things, of systematic reasoning to the unfathomable Mystery which it tries forever, vainly, to comprehend."
Aldous Huxley
Every now and then, you have to go back through the door of your past and see exactly what brought you to the present - where you are now. By looking at your past in this way, you can recognise how much you have truly grown as a person, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. The doors of the past should never be shut, as they will inevitable seal the progression of your future self.

Who I am...
In Love and Light of all things
Always part of Time
As old as Tuan
As wise as the form I occupy
I am ancient but new in this life
Healing the Songlines of the lands
I walk forward to my next Quest
Blue for healing, blue is the sky covering us all
Crow is Sacred Law, calls the Truth always.
Find my heart and words True
