Dartmoor
Under Threat.
Many
Dartmoor walkers start walks at Cadover bridge. Yet this favourite area is a
landscape under threat of destruction. The clay Industry wishes to excavate a
super quarry in the Blackabrook Valley, a wild and attractive tributary of the
river Plim and to dump millions of tons of clay waste on Shaugh moor and
Crownhill Down.

Ashingdon
-Essex
Sunday 14th
May
This
site has now been evicted.
Court
date Tues. 16th May
UPDATE
The trial date for the Eco
Warriors who were evicted from Ashingdon Wood was Monday the thirteenth of
November two thousand.
The Eco Warriors never
attended Southend Magistrates Court reason being, the charges made against them
were dropped. This could be due to either a trial not being in the interest of
justice, not in the public interest, or the costs the trial would accrue if it
went ahead.
This apparently is not to say
that it was unlawful to evict them. It does mean they can claim compensation.
And it appears that a
fraudulent claim of ownership was made against the wood, which is classed as a
town green site . A site has to be so, for at least twenty years. And
that means Ashinggdon Wood more than qualifies as such.
Much of the wood and scrub has
been removed, but the fight for Ashingdon Woo is not over, it goes on, so watch
this space.
